What is HackZurich
HackZurich is an annual hackathon held in Zurich, Switzerland. Participants can team up in teams from 2-5 people and have 40 hours to tackle a problem. In 2023 there were around 500 participants or around 109 teams working on different challenges.
The Problem
It’s the year 2023 and everything is getting more expensive in Switzerland. Food, housing, travelling and health insurance have seen a massive increase pricewise. Health insurance being the #1 concern among Swiss citizens. We wanted to tackle this problem.
Our Solution
In Switzerland, health insurance prices undergo an annual update, and individuals have the opportunity to switch insurers once a year. However, many people find the process of comparing various insurance providers overwhelming and are reluctant to manually navigate through the switch. This is where our solution, EasyInsurance, comes into play. Users simply upload their current health insurance details to our platform, and we, in turn, recommend a more cost-effective insurance plan with identical benefits. Upon the user’s acceptance of the suggested insurance, we seamlessly handle the switch. For a visual demonstration, you can watch our demo video here.
